THE ZIMBABWE INTERNATIONAL FILM AND FESTIVAL TRUST (ZIFFT) PRESENTS THE 18th ZIMBABWE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2016
The Festival will run under the theme, ‘REEL, SOUND & MUSIC’, which seeks to highlight the important role of sound and music in producing high quality and wholesome films.
For 8 days from the 1st to the 8th October 2016, over 50 films from well over 20 countries will be screened at venues across Greater Harare.
ZIFF2016’s major highlights will be the Opening Night, Special Embassy National Days, the Awards Night as well as the Closing Night.
Also to look out for will be screenings of the Hoche-Khotshe Series of Shorts produced by ZIFFT with partners, Amakhosi and Rooftop Promotions.
The much awaited Hi-5 Short Film Competition returns and emerging Zimbabwean filmmakers are finishing off their submission projects ahead of the 30th September deadline in anticipation of winning the prizes on offer.
As usual, support programmes like Outreach to Educate will facilitate screenings and workshops in High Density areas. The Film Forum will present an exciting Industry Programme featuring, workshops, seminars, discussion, pitch sessions and collaborations among industry stakeholders.
The theme REEL, SOUND & MUSIC also ensures that festivities are achieved at the Festival, with fitting films, music parties and corresponding engagements.
ZIFFT pays homage to all participating Embassies, corporate bodies, various cultural organizations and stakeholders in the Film industry as well as the audience for the continued support.
